Building on the momentum from the 2025 edition, the programme aims to help Clubs expand their audiences, strengthen fan engagement, and accelerate their global reach.

For 2026, the EWCF has allocated 20 million USD in funding, which will be distributed to 40 organisations. Each participating Club will receive performance-based six-figure support, determined by its success in growing its following before and during the Esports World Cup 2026.

The overall structure mirrors last year's format, continuing a model the Foundation believes has delivered proven results.

Eight teams have already secured their places through direct invitations, awarded for standout performances at the Esports World Cup 2025.

The invited organisations include Team Falcons, Team Liquid, Team Vitality, Twisted Minds, Virtus.pro, AG.AL, Gen.G Esports, and Weibo Gaming.

The remaining slots will be filled via the open application process now under way, with the full roster of participating Clubs set to be announced in January 2026.

Hans Jagnow, director of Club and player relations at EWCF, said the upcoming programme will prioritise broadening international reach, supporting community growth, and attracting new audiences to the esports ecosystem.

A larger Super Fan Program will also feature in 2026. Introduced last year, the initiative rewards the most dedicated supporters of partnered Clubs through co-branded campaigns and exclusive experiences.
