CS2: FISSURE Playground 2 set for September in Belgrade

    Belgrade Arena is set to host one of the year's premier Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) events as FISSURE Playground 2 returns from September 12th to 21st, 2025.

    The tournament will feature 16 teams competing for a $1.25 million prize pool and crucial Valve Regional Standings (VRS) points, which count towards qualification for the Budapest Major in November.

    The event, which bases its invites on the July 2025 VRS rankings, has already confirmed six high-profile teams in its first wave of invitations.

    These include Team Falcons, G2 Esports, and FURIA, as well as Virtus.pro and Astralis, both returning for their second FISSURE Playground appearance this year.

    Aurora Gaming also joins the line-up and is expected to field a full-strength squad, with Ismailcan 'XANTARES' Dortkardeş back in action after missing IEM Cologne 2025 due to personal reasons.

    The competition will feature at least six of the top 13 teams from the latest VRS rankings, with the remaining ten teams yet to be announced.

    However, FISSURE Playground 2 faces a notable scheduling clash with the StarLadder StarSeries Fall 2025, which also draws on the July VRS.

    As a result, several organisations may be forced to choose between the two prestigious events.
