Worlds 2025: Movistar KOI survives elimination with win over Team Secret Whales
Movistar KOI (MKOI) kept their 2025 League of Legends World Championship hopes alive by defeating Team Secret Whales 2-1 in the Swiss Stage, eliminating the LCP team while moving one step closer to the Knockout Stage.

The series was a back-and-forth battle, with MKOI recovering from early setbacks to dominate key fights and objectives. Strong coordination and clutch plays, including timely objective steals, ultimately delivered the series victory.
In game one, Javier 'Elyoya' Prades Batalla gave MKOI an early lead with a double kill and a successful 2v2 bot lane skirmish. However, Team Secret Whales responded by punishing risky recalls and repeatedly catching David 'Supa' Martínez García, steadily building a gold and objective lead. Despite a critical four-man Orianna ultimate from Joseph Joon 'Jojopyun' Pyun, Team Secret Whales maintained control, securing Cloud Soul, Baron, and ultimately closing the game in 34 minutes.
Game two saw MKOI respond aggressively. While Team Secret Whales initially pressured the side lanes and traded objectives, MKOI turned the tides with a decisive fight that netted Atakhan and two towers. After shattering all three inhibitors, MKOI leveraged a second Baron to force a decisive third game.
The final game was fiercely contested, with both sides trading kills and objectives through the first 20 minutes. A pivotal mid-lane fight and a critical Atakhan steal swung momentum firmly toward MKOI. Elyoya dominated the jungle on Naafiri, finishing 10/0, as Movistar KOI secured the win and extended their Worlds run.
MKOI now sits at 2-2 in the 2025 World Championship Swiss Stage, facing one final best-of-three to clinch a place in the Knockout Stage.
