StarCraft II returns to Esports World Cup for 2025
The Esports World Cup Foundation has officially announced that StarCraft II will once again feature in the EWC lineup for 2025, continuing the legacy of one of esports' most enduring titles.

The SC2 tournament is scheduled to take place from August 15th to 18th, during the final fortnight of the competition.
SC2's inclusion marks a return after its successful appearance in last year's EWC, as well as its prior involvement in the Gamers8 festival, the EWC's predecessor.
Though full tournament details, including the format and prize pool, have not yet been revealed, fans will be eager to see whether it matches or surpasses 2024's impressive numbers - a 1.05 million-dollar reward for the champion.
Last year, French prodigy Clement 'Clem' Desplanches of Team Liquid triumphed in a 16-player competition that featured a group stage followed by knockouts.
Finland's Joona 'Serral' Sotala, representing BASILISK, finished as runner-up in a thrilling final.
The 2025 Esports World Cup will comprise 25 events across 24 different games - three more than in 2024 - with new additions including Chess, VALORANT, and CrossFire.
The latter was added following a new three-year partnership with developer Smilegate.
