OpTic Texas edge Still Orgless to win inaugural Black Ops 7 title
OpTic Texas underlined their status as the reigning Call of Duty world champions by capturing the title at the inaugural Black Ops 7 tournament.
optic-texas-logo16They won a dramatic 4-3 showdown against Still Orgless in Sunday's grand final of the Monster Launch Invitational.
The online event - backed by Monster Energy and serving as a pre-Call of Duty League 2026 warm-up - featured 16 teams battling for early-season bragging rights and a $25,000 top prize.
OpTic entered the final with confidence after sweeping Still Orgless 3-0 in the upper bracket, but the free-agent side, led by Dylan 'Envoy' Hannon, fought their way back with a gritty 3-2 victory over G2 Minnesota to force a rematch.
The opening exchanges of the final set the tone for a tense contest: OpTic drew first blood with a Hardpoint win, before Still Orgless levelled the series by taking the subsequent Search and Destroy.
The match ultimately went the distance, culminating in a Game 7 S&D on Scar that delivered all the suspense expected of a top-tier final.
The deciding map was tied 2-2 when Cuyler 'Huke' Garland produced a stunning 1v3 defensive clutch to edge OpTic ahead.
Still Orgless responded to make it 3-3, but OpTic's composure shone through as they closed out the final three rounds to secure the map 6-3 and claim the championship.
Huke finished the decider with eight kills and four deaths, while team-mates Anthony 'Shotzzy' Cuevas-Castro, Mason 'Mercules' Ramsey and Brandon 'Dashy' Otell contributed eight, seven and seven kills respectively.
