The outcomes sent Group B rivals Bilibili Gaming (BLG) and Rex Regum Qeon tumbling into the lower bracket.

For MIBR, the win marked a dramatic turnaround. Eliminated early in VCT Americas Stage 2, the region's third seed looked rejuvenated on the world stage and stunned China's Stage 2 champion BLG with a 2-0 upset.

The series began on Haven, BLG's map pick, where MIBR unveiled the Viper/Omen composition popularised by Gen.G at Masters Toronto.

The setup shone in post-plant scenarios, exposing BLG's passive defence that failed to gather information or deny site plants.

Andrew 'Verno' Maust starred with a record-breaking 18/3/3 KDA, eclipsing the global benchmark set by Tyson 'TenZ' Ngo. Two pistol-round wins helped MIBR storm to a dominant 13-2 victory.

Corrode, the second map, proved tighter. BLG's Deadlock utility initially stifled MIBR's set executes, while Erick 'aspas' Santos struggled to find space as the team's lone duelist. A narrow 5-7 attacking half left the series finely poised.

But MIBR came alive on defence, sweeping up momentum with a fourth pistol-round win and a bonus secured by an aspas ace. With Odin and Operator in hand, MIBR asserted mid control, suffocating BLG's attacks.

Though BLG clawed back rounds through ultimate usage, the resistance fell short as MIBR closed 13-9.
