GRID unveils key stats and standout performers from the BLAST.tv Austin Major
Game data platform GRID has unveiled a comprehensive set of statistics from the recent BLAST.tv Austin Major, revealing both player performances and key trends from the premier Counter-Strike 2 tournament.

In partnership with the tournament organisers, GRID tracked a total of 24,198 kills across 3,700 rounds of CS2, along with 2,054 bomb plants. Interestingly, 1,646 rounds saw no plant attempts at all, pointing to strong defensive plays that consistently shut down attacking advances. The data also showed an increase in planting activity during the later stages of the tournament, suggesting a growing emphasis on strategic execution.
Among individual standouts, Team Vitality's Mathieu 'ZywOo' Herbaut led the field with the best kill-to-death ratio at 1.64 - 14% above the tournament average. Team Spirit's Danil 'donk' Kryshkovets posted the highest average kills per match at 22.42, paired with a staggering +2876 damage differential, marking him as the event's most impactful player.
The data also offered a lighter note: 584 in-game chickens were eliminated over the course of the Major. The bulk of the casualties occurred during the Swiss Stage, while 15 chickens met their fate during the Grand Final showdown between Team Vitality and The MongolZ.
Additional highlights included OG Esports' Adam 'adamb' Ångström achieving a 75.6% headshot rate during his brief tournament appearance. The MongolZ also showcased some of the tournament's sharpest shooting, with Ayush 'mzinho' Batbold and Azbayar 'Senzu' Munkhbold combining for over 130 headshots.
