New Zealand paceman Kyle Jamieson ruled out of ODI series against England
New Zealand fast bowler Kyle Jamieson has been ruled out of the ODI series against England, starting on Sunday, due to side stiffness.
Kyle JamiesonThe 30-year-old experienced discomfort to his side at training and the New Zealand medical staff decided to take the precautionary approach and withdraw the paceman.
Jamieson is hoping to be fully fit and firing when the Black Caps host West Indies on 5 November.
"Kyle experienced some stiffness in his side after bowling today and we didn't want to take any risks at this stage of the summer," New Zealand coach Rob Walter said.
"We felt it was best for him to sit out this one-day series and give himself the best chance of being ready for the West Indies tour which starts on November 5 in Auckland."
Jamieson will return home to Christchurch for further assessment with replacement yet to be named.
